Default SpeedTech 981 Exhaust Development Thread

We are currently working on our exhaust solution for the Porsche 981 Boxster/Cayman. Our development car is in the shop and over the next two weeks, we will have pictures, video and sound clips, as they become available. Here are a few pictures before we begin...

Our 981 exhaust will have sound valves that can be easily connected to the OEM Porsche sound vacuum lines or the valves can be used as a stand alone system with our key fob remote for manually open/closed settings and for those without the OEM Porsche Sound Option that want an adjustable sound exhaust. We will also use an X-Pipe exit and dual tips to blend the sound of the two banks.

This thread will be updated as we document our progress....

Special introductory Rennlist member pricing will be available, as well.

Different motor, so not sure. We have not had a chance to take in a Spyder 3.8 to verify, although based on pictures, it appears they use the same headers/cats, so it is possible. We will have to verify...

Thought I should share....

First testimonial:

Hi John,

Just wanted to touch base with you. I am working on a detailed follow up. I want to tell you that I think you under-estimated your self on this one my friend! This is a masterpiece!

I honestly feel like you handed me back a GT4/GT3 for how exotic it sounds, aggressive, and perfection. I didn't think you could make me love my cayman anymore than I did, but I am literally floored by the excitement with this car now.

The sport button works amazing to tone it down during late night driving through neighborhoods.

ZERO Drone

We had a really fun time driving back and I hit a lot of high RPM runs and it was UNREAL.
I had so many people freaking out and trying video / take pictures. BTW that never happened before on this car

That was one of the best days I have had in a very long time.

I too am curious about the 3.8 application, but setting that aside, what's the weight savings over the original system, if any?

The weight is about the same, but absolutely no drone whatsoever and great sound...

I'm sure it will. I'm using my stock 2.7 exhaust on my 3.8 swap in my 2014 Cayman.

We are finishing up a couple of these exhausts next week and will have two available. This exhaust sounds incredible.

Contact us for our Rennlist member discount pricing. It will be another month before we get to producing more and these will go quickly...
