Default 981 cayman gts brake kit

Want to ask what brake kit and rotor size is the best match for 981 cayman gts. Im planning to change 6 pot 380mm rotor up front, 4 pot 355mm rotors at the back. Any brands can recommend me? Will it lock up easily engaging the ABS with this rotor size combo?

Need advice, thx

I and others who have looked into this with the stock 340hp engine would say DO NOTHING. The existing brakes are perfectly matched.

If you absolutely insist on doing anything with the brakes, I'd personally stick with Brembo. They're on the higher end with pricing, but you get what you pay for and should never skimp on brakes.

Save your money, upgrade the lines, pads and fluid if you track. Otherwise it is cosmetic only.

We got our Cayman GTS a short while ago and very quickly realized the stock brakes were not going to be up to the task for how we use the car. I get a lot of track time opportunity and quickly realized that if you track with any frequency, the brakes need upgrading. Fluid, lines and slotted rotors at a minimum. We looked into many options including Brembo and ended up putting the Rotora big brake kit with #6 pads. The brakes feel almost as good as the Carbon Ceramics on my Z06. There is no drama, no noise, no lock up, just a great solid initial bite with no fade. My wife loves them too. They are wearing incredible and I do not change pads switching between street and track. I cannot be happier at this point and would recommend you at least checking them out if you are looking for seriously good brakes. Lots of discussion on P9 including a work up on our car if you are interested.

Only if you are going to track the car and run R comps: 996 GT3 front calipers and 350mm rotors. Done. Ask Vision Motorsports about this upgrade.

I have done one track date on the above brake upgrades. They are awesome. No fade, no lock up and best of all, very little squeal. No one will notice your big brake kit cuz it's almost OEM! Done!

I tend to stay "in the family" and only use GT3 stuff AND only on the front. Caymans have 911 brakes on them and the only difference is the bias in the ECU for the ABS/PSM circuit. Good luck!
