Thank you guys very much.

A little OT for this thread but the other question I have are 20" wheels are they too big for the car and affect the handling in a negative way?

I will be coming out of a 2008 GT3 (19" wheels) and most track guys still go to 18" wheels. I do like the looks of the 20" Carrera S Wheel in Satin but do not want to impact handling in a negative way.

I also noticed in the article in Panorama Pete Stout's preference for handling purposes was the 19" wheel.

Any thoughts?

Thanks for the input.

Robert

if I was ordering a 981S again, I would go for X73 -20mm sports suspension and 19" wheels.

Ironically I was configuring a Cayman S just last night and the only difference between your configuration and what I had picked was the perforated/cooled seats. Same exact exterior/interior color, same options (from what I can see) and same wheels. Great minds think alike. ;-)

Congratulations to you and Jill, enjoy in good health.
Hi Afshin, thanks. Actually the dash is dark gray (with just a hint of brown in some lighting). Jill really disliked how the numerous extra perforations affected some colors, and I didn't care about ventilated seats. Hope you, Bia and the kids are all doing well.

I drove many 981 S Boxsters and Caymans with 19 and 20" wheels. I preferred the 20s. I don't think they are too big for the car. Also, check out Chris Harris's video test drives of the 981S Boxster and Cayman. He had nothing but praise for the handling and both cars he drove were on 20s (Cayman was on Carrera S the Boxster S was on Carrera Classics).

Track guys generally, prefer the lightest wheels you can get. Smaller wheels generally weigh less, and hence the car might be a tad quick in a timed event. I've seen some guys say, take whatever wheels Porsche gives you, buy an aftermarket set that weigh less, and sell the stock wheels.

Test drive a bunch of cars with different 19s and 20s and decide what is right for you. Good luck.

All other photos were after it was recently delivered via enclosed trailer as the weather here has been pretty bad. Can't wait for spring. I'll try to take some more photos outside once the weather improves. Special thanks to Keadog, who was very helpful and generously shared his experience with the various options and the ordering process.

Looks fantastic, can't wait to see it at spring C&C.

Hi Steve,

I look forward to catching up at C&C and showing you our our new baby in the spring. The car came out looking even better than we had imagined, and we had never seen one in this exact color combination. Hope you have a great weekend.

Best regards,
Dino

P.S. Here is one more taken by the detail shop that I had put a custom full clear bra on the entire front, rocker panels and behind the rear wheels.

Dino, I tried to PM you after receiving your very gracious PM, but maybe it didn't go through? That has happened to me before.
In any event, the car looks phenomenal! I love dark blue metallic and, although I'm a dark interior guy, your car looks terrific!
Enjoy it. Great chassis to drive!

Ooops, just noticed your PM. For some reason it failed to send me a notice that I had a PM. Thanks again for all of your help and good wishes!

Default Guards Red 981S

Guards Red is an awesome color. Can't wait for a little warmer weather so I can enjoy the car.

And the same to you!
I think the white gauges really make that interior pop with the two tone look! Great build!

Here is a 2013 Platinum Silver S with black top / interior. But very soon to be replaced by a Graphite Grey 911 "50"

Well, I definitely owe you for suggesting the white gauges, both for how it works with my interior and functionally providing a far better contrast in bright sunlight than the standard white numbers on gray RPM gauge of the "S" models. Thanks again

Thanks for your kind words. My wife deserves the credit for choosing the color combination. This is definitely an example where my poor photo skills barely convey just how good looking this combination is in person.
