Default Car cover

We just bought a new boxster s yesterday and wanted to see if there is a car cover available that will just cover the windshield and cloth top for while I'm at work or it is sitting in front of the house. I didnt really want to cover the entire car. Does anyone know if that is available?

951, I checked their website and got:

"We're sorry, Convertible Covers are not currently offered for your Porsche Boxster"

I just sold my 09 and threw in the cover that had worked for my 01, 05 and 09. It is my understanding the old style(s) are too small for the new body.

And, I guess I should have read the op and have seen what he was looking for. :-)

Boxster is listed on this one. I also see a review from a Boxster owner. Look for the one listed for a Mazda Miata.

Porsche doesn't offer anything like that but it's not a bad idea.

If you park the car indoors the indoor cover looks amazing on the car and fits like a glove. The Porsche outdoor cover is very durable and has a really nice exterior material that's great against the elements. Also the factory cover comes with cables to lock the cover onto the car. If you're considering a cover I'd highly recommend getting the factory part.

Here is mine, by Roadster Solutions. It keeps out dust, bird poop, and rain. I paid $140 for it, have been using it daily since April, and am very happy. It takes me about 2-minutes to put on, and about 30-seconds to take off and store. You can put it on with the top up or down, windows up or down.

The side strap goes in the door at the bottom, but I have not bothered with them.

Those rear straps go inside the trunk lid.

I was looking in to these a few months back. This one maybe the same as the above post or slightly different. Still thinking about getting it.

You get what you pay for. That Ebay cover is not waterproof, nor does it protect your doors from being bumped. The sides of mine are padded to keep my doors and mirrors from getting dinged.

Using the car cover at work keeps down the wear-and-tear on the top and its motor. I only put the top up once a week when the car gets washed.

I like the roadster solutions one but unfortunately they have to re-make it for the new boxsters since they are wider. They said to call back at the end of september and maybe they will have more info as to when it will be available for sale. Thanks for the great feedback.

Keep in mind that full-size car covers scratch the paint. The only safe application is to use a car cover after the car is washed and dried, otherwise the particles on the paint get rubbed around on the paint surface causing small scratches.

If you are just covering the top as in your Boxster, you will be OK since you are not touching much painted surface.
