Car was a daily driver. No signs of any trouble beforehand. 40,000 mile service 2 weeks before showed no problems. My understanding is that a reinforced shaft was gradually introduced during the 05 model run, and it is just a matter of luck whether you get the new one or the old... I have heard that here is a list out there of VINs indicating which is which.
