I too assumed door cards were the same in 991 and 981.

On reflection, the 991's doors may well be longer ..

Plus the rear edge of the 991's door is not as curved as 981's.

Painting lower door mirror mounts and side vents in gloss black would be cool .. or maybe guards red to match the calipers

 

From what i eead when the 991 came out, I believe the mirror location are due to European safety standards.

 

Just saw one on the lot with painted vents option....$675.00.

 

My favorite part of the new door is the solid "thunk" when you close it.
