Top Gear Headers

Something tells me the cheaper headers will have more issues than the expensive ones. I don’t have data for this. In the Subaru world I have been bit by buying a cheaper high flow cat that failed, only to have to buy the better one. For me I would rather do the work once and be done. Certainly would suck to have to pull them off again and get fixed. Ya get what you pay for. If tracking I think the risk just goes up. Perhaps look into getting headers where you can take the cat out and put a test pipe in before going to the track. Unfortunately ya have to pay to play. I wish we had more data on failures.

The Soul headers look weird with the coating or whatever they do to theirs. I prefer the look of the bare stainless of the Top Gear headers. Just an observation - I likely won't do headers on my car.

Being manufactured in the UK, I'm pretty sure these should be solid pieces, mine arrive on Monday.
Sorry to have revived an old thread, just had a question for a user in this thread that I was unable to private message.

There's another extensive thread on these headers with zero bad reviews. The speculation there is that these headers are in fact the same exact as the Soul headers sans the cute coating. It's blatantly obvious when you compare the flanges.

Took my GT4 to the track this week for the first time with the TG headers. Faster? I don’t know. Slow track. I was 3 seconds off my PB, but the fast guys were off by as much as 6 seconds. They did sound great though, and I had several people stop by to comment on how good the car sounded. The overall experience is positive, with a satisfying pull throughout the rpm range, without the noticeable dip it used to have.

Question about spacers. I have a 718 Spyder with Kline 200 cel catted headers. I occasionally get a CEL and am thinking of adding spacers. Not sure the difference between the L and straight spacers and which would work best. Would love any insights. I currently have just been clearing the CEL when it pops up. That can be once a month or once a week--just whenever it feels like it.
