All the reports I've seen of increased rear brake wear come from heavy track usage. Haven't had an issue myself yet.

I had my car coded last week and PTV was turned on. Still trying to rack up the miles on my favorite roads to get more information, but so far its positive. Its seamless but I have certainly noticed the car rotating easier than before and the nose tucking in more. Overall the car feels more agile and eager to turn.

I might be wrong but doesn't the PTV option out of factory have LSD?

Really wish there were a way to dynamically during PTV on/off from the cockpit. PTV can become a nuisance on a short track with a lot of turns. Due to the pulsing rear brake application in turns, it dumps a lot of extra heat into the braking system which, after a long day in warm temps, can cause a spongy brake pedal.

I activated it on my 981 CS that sees heavy track use and I hated it. Unfortunately for me my PWIS Vas broke after activating it and I was stuck with it on for a whole track day and Time Trials. I thought I might adjust to it but I didn't really, I felt the car almost turned in too much scrubbing of speed and didn't track out as naturally. It's now turned back off.

@ledbette @yebokmj What brake pads are you using?
I upgraded to Girodisc rotors & DS2500 pads last week and I thought I noticed that the effects of PTV were more apparent than before. It wasn't a huge amount and it's something I've already adapted to. But it's got me thinking that people who run pads that have a very aggressive bite might experience PTV kick in more aggressively/abruptly. I can see how that would be a problem but luckily its very easy to toggle that setting on/off for a track day.
For me PTV is nice to have on a tight and twisty canyon road. Seems less useful for fast track use where it would probably benefit you more to dive into your sway bar and damper settings to get the turn-in characteristics you want without burning up your brakes.

PTV seems like an effective and cheap way for Porsche to sharpen the turn-in response on cars they know are going to be primarily driven on the street. I'm sure they realize even their GT products will be driven mostly on public roads. It allows for a sharper front end response on cars with street tires/alignments without the drawbacks of tuning the chassis in such a way that is excessively twitchy or over-steery for the majority of driving done on public roads.

Spot on. PTV is definitely worthwhile for road use. For those that primarily track, I would dump PTV and fit a more track-focused slippy.

nhnguy12 I'm running Hawk DTC 60s front and rear with Giro oversized rotors front and rear. I actually tried the DS2500 but found them to be junk for track use.
