Default Shocks 981

Hi - I have been told by a garage that the “shocks” on my 2016 GT 4 are starting to become loose and will soon need to be replaced. The car has 26k miles and is tracked a lot. I understand that to replace all four shock with factory equipment is around $3k. Are factory replacements the best approach or are there better (cheaper and equal functionality) options?

1. Get a second opinion from a qualified Porsche shop, dealer or independent, and make sure it's one that works on Porsches that are used for track events or racing.
2. If "shocks" are needed (not sure what your shop was referring to, bushings, dampers, damper rods?) there are many excellent aftermarket ones that are price competitive or cheaper than OEM.
3. Try posting in the GT4 subforum of this 981 forum. More likely to get someone who has GT4 specific experience on your issue.
