Default Leaking fuel after fill up

Filled up at COSTCO today and then parked. Smelled gas as I got out of the car. Came out of COSTCO and had gas on the ground in front of the car. Car was on a slight nose down slot. Strong smell of gas when I opened the frunk. Smelled gas fumes the last time I filled up which was the first full tank after tracking. Had the car since Nov 2019 and tracked 2020 and 21. Taking to my Indy on Monday. Is this possibly the vapor canister? The smell seems to get less and less as the tank draws down. No smell of gas when I park in the garage, but definitely smell when driving especially after fill up.

You're not topping off the gas when filling up are you? This just sounds like overfilling. Unless you're seeing evidence your dripping gas when you're not close to full, I don't know I'd be too worried,

Car had a cracked retaining ring where the fuel pump connects to the tank. The crack was not enough to trigger a code for the fuel system losing pressure like when you leave your gas cap off.
