Default CEL code P1466

I have a 2013 Boxster with a code P1466 which my scanner tells me that it is "Radiator Fan: Mechanical Fault"
A search on this 981 forum returns no matches. A search on other forums return a match on a 991 to be Radiator Fan:Mechanical Fault/

Can someone who is more informed than I am tells me if this code is actually about a bad radiator fan, and if so which one?

A search in the diagnostic trouble code PDF yields this:

Code P1467 is "Radiator fan 2", so I guess you just have to figure out which side is fan 1 and which side is fan 2. Maybe search the wiring diagrams?

Here we go: https://www.dropbox.com/s/yq494zt58a...it-01.png?dl=0 (inserting the image directly into the thread compresses it so much that you can barely read anything)

Note the red highlighted portion on the lower left—"Radiator Fan Ctrl 1" corresponds to the right front rad fan, and "Radiator Fan Ctrl 2" corresponds to the left front.

Just to close this off.

Yes, 1466 is the right side fan, which is fan number 1. Spinning the fan by hand gave a grinding noise so it is done. This job requires you to remove the "apron" otherwise known to us as a bumper cover. About 4 hours in all its glory.

Don't assume the fan is shot! If you just want to replace it and not fool with it, that's fine, but the radiator fans are brushless, and the grinding is road pebbles that get caught up in the spinning structure. I had my right side one locked up completely. I removed the inner wheel cover, and worked the fan loose by rocking it rotationally while blasting compressed air into the rotating section. It took me about 45 minutes of this to get all of the stones out, but fan returned to normal operation afterwards. If yours is spinning at all, it should not take you nearly as long as it did me. That was about 2 years ago and it is still running fine. May be worth a try.
