Default Small stones stuck between rear bumper and quarter panel

Hi guys,

I noticed some small stones stuck in the circled area below, tried prying them out with a sewing needle but failed. Has anyone experienced this or know of a way to clear them?
Thanks!

Have you tried using compressed air? You might have to loosen the bumper cover enough to take the tension off, then blow them out.

I like the compressed air idea. That makes sense to me. I clean out the stones from the inner rear fender lips every week when I wash the GTS. Each week they are full. Amazing. The roads are dissolving in Dallas.

Compress air would work if you are blowing away from the car. As for me, I would try dental floss to pull them out.

To be more precise, I would mask the painted surfaces with a strip of tape, then direct the compressed air from the outside in, hopefully blowing the grit toward the fender well (since the grit got in from the inner side). BTW, I have a 981 Cayman Base and have never seen this problem.

Thanks for the compressed air and dental floss suggestions, will give it a try. I Will need to loosen the bumper slightly, does anyone know how I can loosen that area?

I too am baffled how these stones got stuck there in the 1st place, more like small sand. they are lodged in pretty tight. Perhaps it started with a single stone which created a slight gap which then allowed the rest to accumulate. Anyone else has encountered this before?

Perhaps I just need to loosen this screw in the wheel well? Seems to be holding the bumper to the quarter panel

Unrelated….. but consider a set of GTS tailights. I think they

look great against white.

I beg to differ. Much prefer the full red look 😊
