Bigmoguls Thats exactly why I started asked the questions. I know in a manual my pool of cars is small and when I begin adding all the options the chances of finding a car are getting smaller with every option. I agree on aspect ratio. My truck had 22's and though they handled amazing the were rough. swapped for asmaller wheel with taller rubber and the ride drastically improved. Thanks for you thoughts

@Fronttrunk I have collected a bunch of data on configurations that I'm willing to share. Be Aware, model year in these cars doesn't really matter and there are many more 2014 and 2013 981 than 2015 and 2016 years combined. The older cars are just as reliable.

X73 with 20" will be more supple than your E92.
i've gone 5k in Ny/Fl road trips without a peep from my picky wife.
PSE is fun for the ripping good sound and extra burble will entertain your kid at least lol.

Jago Do you have experience in the E92? My wifey is pretty finicky and I have found two 981's that I really like. One has x73 which looks amazing but Im concerned about everyday comfort as I will not be tracking car. The second has PASM, at least has the button but don't see listed on vin analytics, which seems strange. The x73 is CPO. both are same money basically. I understand its a sports car but that doesn't mean hold my breath and clinch every muscle in my torso when hitting a bump .

So I have narrowed the field to 2! Basically same year/mileage etc. One is CPO has x73 w/ 18 way seats. Concerned about ride stiffness and Really concerned about height as my neighborhood has speed humps and curbed driveway. Other unit has PASM. Can any of you with x73 experience give insight

hi i have had an 2007 E93 335 since 2008, with 18s and sport package. my 981 BGTS with 20's and x73 rides smoother. porsches are generally louder (the 981 in a great way) and pdk more sudden in shifting (m mode at least) but the E93 hammers the bumps while 981 is more supple.
re height i think the 981 has a pretty short overhang and can handle reasonable situations easily. just take an angle in driveways. never had a speed bump issue.

I have 20” with pasm in a bs with sc also , after having concerns like you as drive rough roads 45% of the time I did my research and this is the best combo and a 20” equipped car has to have Pasm.it runs in comfort mode as std and has an operating range depending on road feedback etc which will soften further if needed, it then has the harder mode in sc you can switch manually as well.in this mode it runs harder and ideal for motorways or smother back roads when driving it on and also ranges depending on wheel feedback, steering angle, braking etc…

drives 10 times better than any lowered car I’ve ever owned and no issue on high speed bumps as I always slow to a crawl to transverse them what ever car I’m in.pasm car is 10mm lower than std and x73 is another 10mm lower again….

i contend the x73 is fine on 20's. my research is thousands of miles experience, less electro wizardry to go bad on you too. no offense to your statement, but its your opinion, not a fact.
cheers.

I have a 981 Cayman GTS with 20” wheels. The ride is very supple when it is in normal mode (it has PASM) and I find it totally fine unless the roads are really messed up.
you will not regret a 981 of any flavour, but for me the PSE and Spirts Chrono make the car so much more exciting to drive. It’s a true drivers car in my opinion.

So you are still in the market? When I saw that this thread is a year old, I was hoping for your sake that you bought a car last year.
If you find a good buy today, jump at it.

A multi-tasking error on my part.

To the OP, in terms of the 85K miles it wouldn't concern me as long as the car is priced appropriately.

16 981BGTS 6MT x73
So took possession of my first Pcar yesterday! 981B GTS 6MT x73. This car is AMAZING! Coming out of a BMW E92 I was concerned about ride with the x73 especially w 20" wheels. I had narrowed my search to two cars one with PASM and this x73. I was very nervous the ride would be harsh. After some great advice and info gathered on this forum I chose the x73 and MAN.... This thing is smooth and sweet. It literally is on rails and very comfortable. Smoother than my M3 by far and the handling, geez! This is a smile maker. Huge Thank You's to you all
