Default Car cover or not?

My boxster stays out of the garage all the time, i usually for now drive it everyday for fun or otherwise. Would an outdoor car cover be fine? i wash it once a week or every other week as i'm learning to detail more and more. I've searched the forums and not able to find a lot of info but some on car covers. Some say just clear bra for front but not sure if i need it, ceramic coating for the paint to protect it, ceramic tint to keep the heat out and the interior looking new. Is this the best way or would an outside car cover be good?

Has anyone actually seen scratches caused by installing or removing a cover?

Generally anything that touches your car paint can be considered abrasive without lubrication. Dust, dirt, bug guts, fingers, or a car cover moving in the wind will add tiny small swirl marks over time. The next question is, what details do you notice and what can you live with? If you look at a car and don't notice spider web swirls or often take your car through car washes, then I wouldn't worry about a car cover. If you know what paint correction is and see value in it, then I'd probably omit the car cover.

The cover will also attract unwanted attention.

I'm thinking it's not worth it because my car is white and i will see everything. I was thinking of a car tent or car bubble. Has anyone used one?

I was checking out a high end car storage facility near my home and the owner showed me his own 930. The paint had worn off on the edges of his side view mirrors and was definitely rubbed in other places from a car cover. This was an indoor facility where there is no breeze to move the cover like outside. I wouldn’t use one unless there was a tree or other environmental factors that could permanently damage the paint, and then only with a full Xpel or similar film.

My 993 came with a really nice cover when I purchased it. I used it for a while because our two-car garage is kinda tight but the whole remove/drive/replace routine was not only tiresome but not always possible if the car was wet or dirty. The cover eventually found its way into a cardboard box and was given away. As for tents and bubbles, they're generally for indoor use as an extra layer of protection when a car is stored. I've not seen one yet that would be durable outside in bad weather and god knows what damage they'd do if strong winds tore them loose and they started flailing the car.

Thanks, finally got everyone to agree to clean the garage and allow me to put it inside but I don't want to keep bringing it in and out of the garage but better than any other option for now.
