Use the oil filter tool above with a long extension on your ratchet. Easy to remove. However, the filter won't drop straight down, will have to be canted slightly and may spill a little oil. Not really a problem.

That tool linked above from Amazon is a good one, but there are others out there that, while still being 74mm, are not deep enough to reach over the cupped bottom of the filter housing and engage the flats on the housing. So avoid those.

For spillage, once you break the housing loose, a plastic bag can help catch any oil that would otherwise spill.

Always use the correct size filter cup tool to get it off. Never use pliers as you can crank it and not even know until you start it back up. Here is my video i made with mine.

This.

I've found a long skinny plastic bag works best ..something like a bread loaf / bagel bag.
