The GTS is exactly what I'm looking for but out of my price range. At this point I'd rather pay less and wait until the right car comes around and jump on it. I'm trying not to be too picky with colors or options and stick with what I feel is important. I want this to be my fun car that I can put the miles on but spec it the way I like. I looked for almost 2 years for my 997. I don't want to wait that long but by the middle of summer would be nice.
Yes, I definitely wouldn't exclude the X73 option. Seems few and far between though. I really only see it on the GTS '.

All that said, I can’t fault the owners of a GTS asking those prices if people will pay them. I think the people paying those prices are making a big mistake.

You may have seen this. PTV, PASM, sport chrono. No PSE but easy enough to add - finding a Boxster S with PTV and PASM is a lot harder IMO.

Like many of you, I am in search of a 981 Boxster S. While I have some experience with Boxsters (I currently have a 987.1 BS), I am wondering about what would be the drawbacks of a high mileage 981. For example, I acquired my current Boxster with about 45K miles and thus far the car has performed flawlessly: no IMS issue or bore scoring. In fact, there is no faults with the car and some might question why I want to move on to a 981 BS. Therefore, if I were to acquire a high mileage 981 (with say 80K miles on it) would I regret it? Is a higher mileage 981 something to be considered or are there issues I should avoid? I recognize that this is a trite question, but I am not aware of any universal issues (like IMS or bore scoring) in the 981 line. Any input is welcome. Thanks in advance.

Sort of. I would like to stay under 60k. Less than that really. I'm coming to the conclusion that's not likely to happen based on the escalating prices. I'll probably give up soon, I've already stopped looking in Carguru's etc and just looking passively. I've already had several members offer theirs for sale only to change their mind when I expressed some interest or were just trolling for the way over market sale. Well over CPO prices. I'm not interested in that. I don't understand the "my car is for sale but I changed my mind all of a sudden" bit, and am a bit bewildered by it. Either you want to sell your car or not. This has happened about 4-5 times.
Maybe in the fall or winter something will come around and the prices will come back to earth.

Mine is 28000 miles S crono PDK , It would take more than 60 to part with , with the fab speed performance exhaust & brand new tires. Sorry I couldn't help.

Yes, I understand the thinking. I'm not interested in "convincing" someone to sell by paying above CPO, warrantied car prices. I have a manual 997 to drive that's a blast. Just looking for something nice and exiting that my wife can also drive. This is a luxury item, not a necessity so there's no point in overpaying.

From the looks of things, you will prob have to wait for a while for pricing to come back to earth.. otherwise, well, ya know that emotion thing again..
And for the record, I love my 981, I dare say more than my 997.. I've taken to tracking it now and it is superb on both the street and track, and my wife an I can take wekend trips in it..
