Apologies if this has been discussed, but I can't find any threads in the 981 forum. My 2014 base Boxster has the 7 speaker system. When I was 11, I had a lunchbox-sized Zenith transistor radio that had better sound than this modern day Porsche. Has anyone tried swapping out the door speakers? I'm assuming there are two drivers in each door, but I've no idea of what size they might be, or if there is anything to be aware of when popping off the panels. Any knowledge or experience is appreciated. I'm not interested in anything other than trying to get more bass and mids. The three dash speakers seem to be covering high frequencies just fine. TIA
The JBL speakers by themselves have a harder bass than the Porsche speaker which made me install the subwoofer to get a more rounded sound profile. The speaker mounting holes align up perfectly and just need to be soldered to the speaker post inside the speaker casing. Not the OEM cable or connector, just inside the OEM speaker housing, pretty self-explaining once you open the speaker housing in the door."

Sorry for the "now probably too late of a reply", but I mounted the subwoofer behind the passenger seat at the firewall, much to the demise of my wife who can feel it in her back....lol
Bro you are the man! Acutually im in Texas too, maybe one day we can hang. So I change the crappy ASK for the JBL you recomended and its day and night. I havent done the sub woffer but sounds like I should. Did you did the sub youself? and if so how did you did it? I'm also going to change the twitters hope is as easy as the mids. 981 Boxster here.
