I believe that the awful bore scoring only happens to the S model. It is a different engine entirely from the base.

Bummer about the Gen 1 bore scoring, the Caymans in the wild sticky in the 987-981 section has 987.2's occasionally

I started looking for one of these as well. (Gen 2 base, manual trans) and was also surprised to see almost nothing out there.

Took me nearly 6 months of active searching to secure my 987.2 S manual last month. They tend to sell the same day if they're listed for a reasonable price.

They are very scarce. I listed mine for sale back in August 2020 - mint condition 2009 Base 6/MT and it pretty much sold in less than a week

I had a hard time finding mine 5 years ago, I am just going to keep upgrading and maintaining it, I really love this car, I have been doing about 5 track weekends a year the last few years.

Coventry Motorsports in CT has a nice looking S with PDK...

i was a die hard Manual Transmission guy, after have the PDK I could not go back
