I don't have any at the moment. I'll try to take some this evening and upload.

Driver's side view from below looking forward and up at an angle. Lower heat shield on the bottom right. Upper above it. Cat on the left.

Driver's side view from inside wheel well above cat looking laterally.

Driver's side view from inside wheel well above cat looking downward.

Saved myself a couple hundred stealership dollars. Now I just carry a spare to the track in case I have one die. The 5 & 6 coils are a lot more susceptible to heat degradation. Replacing all 6 does not address this problem, just costs you a lot more in parts and labor.
I track my car heavily and have a lift so I replaced all 6 (for under 300 in parts) along with plugs and added heat shields. I labeled each one as they came out, and now carry a few extra to the track.

For those of you who aren’t planning to tackle this yourself, I’d get the shop to match the parts price from suncoast (or similar) and just get all of them done. For the small incremental price (for a Porsche), you get cheap insurance against a common issue, save the hassle of repeat visits, and likely will save $ (but YMMV). For those who want to tackle it yourselves, plugs and coils is not a bad DIY as long as you have a few extensions and spark plug socket. PM if you have a question.

A couple phots from when I did this back in July:

Thank you so much for the pics. They help a great deal to understand how tight the fit is (especially the lower). Aftermarket 200-cell headers may help a bit because of their slimmer cats.

do these heat shields work on the 987 as well or this just for the 981?

As long as you have the 9A1 engine, I would think they should fit, but don't have personal knowledge. If you have the M97, you'll have to see if they have a similar set of shields for the 911.
