Debugged it (collected a ton of bugs driving to dinner last weekend)

Last night I installed some new “.2” door stops….good bye to that squeak I used to get every time I opened the door.

Today was a trip down to German Car day at Larz Anderson outside of Boston. Lots of cool cars including some special air cooled 911s.

2 week road trip St. Petersburg FL to TX Hill country in my 14 CS. Off interstate as much as possible, 2700 miles. This is a great road car. I bought it in Jan 2002 with 3000 miles driven. It now has 12,800. Those TX back highways have some nice passing zones. Bugs came off easily as I have PPF with ceramic coating.

Terrible pictures but I got the wheels powder coated yesterday. The color is Bazzinga from Prismatic with Clear Vision over it. The light really plays with the color, it's super deep and it looks different every time I see it.

Pretty happy with how they turned out.

Went a little crazy with some orange pipping and PlastiDip.
Was originally an effort to accessorize her with some "Orange on Black" to keep up with her twin sister (Viper) that is "Black on Orange".
Also gave her a slight Bat Mobile flavor.

  • Orange on Black.
  • Black on Orange.

Had a friend help me Install Rennline grill covers....center fit great, sides not so much - expected better given the price - I had to do some minor Dremel modifications to get them in. Additionally, the supplied clips were not easy to use nor did the provided instructions adequately explain. We ended up screwing them directly to the opening surrounds. Overall, I am super happy with the look, but disappointed in the instructions provided (one page with a few lines of text coupled with 2 grainy photos). While we had the bumper cover off, we also cut the required holes for the 3rd radiator as the previous owner didn't do it. So far only running about 20 degrees cooler - expected a little more, but any temp reduction is welcome.

Wasn't impressed with the fit of those side grills either.

I think a 20 degree reduction is pretty good, no?

Yeah their mounting methods are not good. On my Base I used nylon, expanding square nuts with 3” flat head allen furniture screws 😎. It’s not going anywhere.

Yeah, I reckon it is. I just wasn't sure what to expect....and thought it'd be a little more. With the 3rd radiator installed and no holes cut, I was running about 220F-225F driving back roads in Sport+. Now with holes, I'm seeing 198F to 205F under same conditions - shows that it is really important for there to be an exit for the hot air exiting the radiator. This install was done by a large, well known race shop in the SE prior to me acquiring the car....I was really surprised to find out they did the install without cutting the holes.
