Default AC Hardline Replacement

Hello, looking for somebody that might have attempted this before. The hardlines for my AC are somehow damaged and are leaking. Going from what I was told by previous owner. He even gave me two new lines, however it appears this is near impossible to replace with engine installed. This is my question, can this be accomplished with engine in place?

If you intend to turbo charge your 968, you will need to replace the lines anyway since they run very near the turbo downpipe.

The 944 turbo A/C lines are routed away from this area. You'll also need to look at the dryer and its orientation to complete the install.

Jay:

Thank you for this information, note taken!

I did want to drive the car for 6 months or so as is, so still curious if these can be replaced with engine installed.

high side should be easy but it looks like the intake might need to be removed to get the suction line snaked in. I visualize either the hood or the cross member would be in the way, or both, unless the intake is pulled. (the intake gasket is only $15 or so. you could also do the throttle O-rings instead of replacing the pinch clamps on the de-icing hoses and AOS vent.)

Thanks!

I had a couple people on FB that have performed this task with the engine installed. Told me it was a total PITA, but possible. Which means I am going to farm this one out and save my knuckles.
