AC Blower fan box question
Hey guys when I don't have the AC on, the air coming out of the vents has a mildewy basement smell. Not terrible but enough to annoy me. I'm thinking of taking that entire unit out from under the windshield that holds the AC blowers and disassembling and cleaning everything. Is that a waste of time? How difficult is it to get it out and disassemble?
Thanks
Thanks

93 and later have a different lid to the blower box that accepts cabin filters. Less than a Benjamin for the lid but the filters are quite pricey for what they are.
I would start at the drain to see what's growing. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsc...ash-vents.html
Edit....pelican thread shows the drain location.

It is painful to pull the HVAC unit.
Dash comes out...then there are the AC and heater hoses that have to be disconnected in the engine bay...there is a vacuum line to be dealt with and then finally you have to remove the blower assembly from the engine side.
Then you can split the box and get access to the internals.
