Production numbers
Well, there is published ROW production statistics but they very well could be wrong just like the published North American stats.
For North America the first 968 of each series and each year is car #61. Porsche retained the first 60 VINs. So the North American published numbers are usually off by 480 (60 per year, x4 years, x 2 body styles) because they assumed, incorrectly, that production started with #1.
If that turns out to be true for the ROW 968s, then that would mean 6,761 were produced.

I have a shirt from the Italian launch of the 968:

I think it has standard row equipment , plus the options that are on my car like leather seats and interior. Think ' marineblau ' leather is not so common.
Early production so recessed crest on front bonnet.

Very cool! That isn't just a shirt of the Italian launch! From September to November 1991 Porsche brought 1000 employees, journalists from over the globe, customers, etc. to Sicily to get acquainted with the new 968. They had the opportunity to drive it on the famous roads of the Targa Florio, and compare it to its rivals. One of the salesmen of my local dealership still has fond memories of the spirited drives with the 968 in Sicily. Those were the days...
