Default 968 cab top flops over

Hi, The cab top on my 1995 968 flops over top-dead-centre when opening and closing - is there an adjustment to tighten that up? All the adjustment I can find is front-back and side-to-side.
Thanks, Roger

Something is not right. I would start by removing the panels and testing the mechanism while you look for abnormalities.

I agree with Raj. What you describe is not normal operation and it sounds like you have something broken or out of alignment.

aha. Thank you. The reason it was flopping over top dead centre was that the bolt on the mechanism on one side was loose. So as the weight transferred from front to back, it just flopped over. I loosened the bolts on the mechanisms because the fuse was blown when I first got the car. But I tightened those bolts when I replaced the fuse. I think. Anyway, good to know. I checked the handbook and it doesn't say a torque for tightening those bolts - do you happen to know? Because if I tightened them, then the one has worked loose. Also it seems a bit weird to me that the only thing stopping the arm from flopping over is the mechanical pressure from the bolt - doesn't slot in or anything. So I am wondering if it really needs a hefty torque on that bolt to tighten it up enough. But thanks for the pointer.

Put some blue loctite on the bolts before you tighten them up. They tend to back out if you don't use any because of the load they are under
