Question Brake Rotors - interchangeable question

So...looking specifically at the rotors used in the M030 option, the front rotors (and pads and calipers) from the 86.5-92 928s work perfectly. For those wanting to upgrade the fronts, parts can be found from either 928 International or 928 Specialists (I'm sure there are other 928 suppliers).

When it comes to the rear rotors, what are the interchangeable models? I've looked at the calipers between the same year model 928s in photos and in the PET, and it appears that these too may pass...has anyone confirmed this?

FWIW - the rear pads are the same for the 928 and the M030 option. The rotors differ in p/n only for the last 2 digits (928 = 01 and 968 = 91).

Makes me think that a side by side comparison to match critical attributes is in order.

968 m030 rotors are specific where they are cast drilled. Not sure if 928 rotors are similar. Dimensionally they are identical and use same pads, but the actual rotor is different in its design.

Do you mean by cross drilling or by hub bolts or other? The 968 discs/rotors were presumably of later design anyway - from '87 to '92 there was little 928 change (calipers being the exception) after which the the only change was the intro of 'big blacks'.

They are similar to cross-drilled but the holes are cast to avoid premature wear. Very expensive rotors $$ relatively speaking.

Ah, then they would be pricey, but better with little chance of deformation cracks the cross-drilled usually get.
