Over the years I have attended a number of auctions, Mecum, Barrett Jackson, etc. I am always interested in Byers who pay a significant premium for a low mileage example of any type and model car in talking to those buyers when I can they almost exclusively buy these cars for show or collecting I can remember only one women buyer who told me she was going to drive her low mileage car a lot. The premium the buyer pays goes away as soon as more miles are added so if the financial side of the purchase is a mojor contributor that plan makes sense. I have always been a fan of higher mileage cars I buy reasonably drive the fun out of them then only pay the fun factor cost when I sell them. In this way I have gotten to drive and enjoy a bunch of really fun cars. Just my plan and I am sticking to it .

I wonder how many bids never actually transact...save face for auction house after projecting such a high value that they cant take $9500 with a straight face. I cant get my mind around a pedestrian red 968 without solid documentation selling for a number like that...just sayin. Jeff may know if money ever changed hands.... I did not watch auction, perhaps it had plenty of interested in person bidders with a live person winning bid....not one of those suspect envelopes from pre-bidding (effective owner reserve price)

Funky interior
Do you think funky because of the grey color or bc of the condition? I emailed the seller asking for some more photos - I can’t even tell if the dash is cracked from these ones.
How do you think this one compares to the polar silver can you saw in San Jose? At least this one is a private seller and he has maintenance records (and timing belt was done only 3k ago) - the other car has no maintenance records at all.
Im looking for a metallic cabriolet and would prefer blue but obviously condition is important.
Thanks!

To my eye, the interior color is yucky with the blue exterior. YMMV.
Get a PPI done on both! Yes do it. Through PCA or here on Rennlist find decent shops in the area, and have them look at them.
The advice given to me was, find the best example that you can with the colors and options that you want. Then get a PPI.
Sorry, I can't tell you how to spend your money.

The interior color looks fine to me. The grey seats look fine, although I might be tempted to change out the carpet for something darker, perhaps black.
A person really needs to lay eyeballs on this one unless the seller can send you a couple dozen much better photos. Having the car looked at (PPI) locally would be another option if you can’t personally see it.
