I think I picked up that little tidbit when I was crewcheif of my shop teacher's '68 HemiDart drag car back in '85. ....and who said it shouldn't be altered? It should not be left up to the fuel pump to decide the AFR map. And my 911's chip looks nothing like a stock chip or even a Steve Wong. My AFR has several lean points and advance tweaks that the factory was too chicken to allow on street cars. What time do the 951 guys get out of class anyway?

Graph showed your typical 45 climb with a sharp leveling off at 3,900-4,000 RPM where it ran out of fuel volume. In driving it on the street you would never know the horsepower leveled off because it is still pulling hard at 6,500 RPM. I can't imagine what it would feel like if it was getting all the fuel the computer wanted it to have.
......and no lart, you can't play with my eprom.

then, the short stroke combo would flatten/broaden the torque curve to become more usable for a somewhat light car.... I had the engine built with (less costly) ported LS3 heads and oem Vette intake.... I described to the builder that I didn't want a choppy cam.... so he said, something like 'the LS9 cam makes huge power from the mid-range to the mid-6000s... and idle will be stock' .... this setup also allows the heads and tb to slip comfortably under the hood with no clearance issues.
then, a few months later I discovered this article.

same engine, except I chose to go with the more street-friendly setup.
after we install the new pump, and go back to the tuner,
you'll see the insanely flat/wide torque curve and be like, wtf ???
Spencer drove it before the tuner.... but, Doug got a hold of it after.

I thought it was best left in turbo forum since most of the interaction is with turbo owners.

what about a 944 turbo with a LS swap would still be called a 944 turbo?

I never actually understood why so many 944 hybrid threads where started in the 951 forum.
The engine does not change what model the car is, never has and never will.
However, this thread only reinforces why we should have a forum dedicated to these cars.

The funniest part of all of this is the day I introduced Lart to OD. We needed a front sway bar and Lart had an M030 for a reasonable price. As we pulled up to Lart's place OD was freaking out saying "let me out here before he sees me. He hates me for all the crap I spew.". I didn't let him out and instead pulled right up and leaned out the window and called Lart over to my truck. We get out and Lart says "who's this? Is this Riad?" I had told Lart what I needed but didn't say who it was for. He didn't even remember that I was amber lamps, I don't think. Anyway, the two hit it off and we spent the next hour checking out all the cars and parts stockpiled about. Turned into a total love fest. ....anyway, lart's just jabbing back for all the crap Allen spews about the 951 motor. Having been up to my eyeballs with all this I totally support Lart in jabbing back.

Seems to me the 951 forum is the proper place for now. My swap thread there has over 120,000 views...
I would like to see a hybrid sub forum though. I think that'd be worthwhile.
