Default Steering Wheel question

Hey Guys,

Drove my first 968 yesterday. I was not too impressed with the steering wheel itself. The rim was too thin, and it doesn't look all that great. Are there other Porsche wheels that would fit this car without too much trouble? My concern is the airbag, was there ever a 3 spoke offered in the 968? Would a 911 3-spoker fit?

Thanks
Ash

993 RS steering wheel (You can kind of see it in this pic)

993 Steering Wheel

AJ USA Turbo Steering wheel (similar to the CS wheel)

Aftermarket (Momo)

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the quick reply Sandoval,

I notice only that the 993 wheel has an airbag, is there any 3-spoke Porsche wheel with airbag that would fit?

Thanks
Ash

Eric, great reply. I have the CS wheel and it's great. To let you know, AJ sells an airbag 'version' of the 930S/CS wheel-it won't fit.

Cargraphic Germany is supposed to be coming out with a 3 spoke airbag sport wheel that will fit a 968, but as of March it wasn't in production. You may want to try them in Germany directly to see if it's now available. (Much quicker than trying through a Cargraphic rep here in the States).

The 968 CS wheel is still available from the dealer.. Mine was $440 minus $100 PCA cert... It is worth every dollar.....
It only takes about 45 min to install it, alittle longer to get the airbag light off...

WWboater, the easiest way I found to get rid of the airbag light was to clip the cable. This way you don't have to remove your intrument cluster and you can always solder the cable back when selling.
It does make a remarkable difference in the way the car feels though. I am glad I changed mine to CS.

Raj

Thats what I ended up doing. But I used the instructions from Tom's site, and since they were for an S2 I wanted to trace the wiring diagrams for my car.

The CS wheel is great, I had it in my 951 before I sold it. That is one of the few things that I pulled off of the car.. It makes the interior look updated and it just feels like a million $$$$$.

I notice from your signature that you have supercups. They are absolutely gorgeous. I love them. Do you have them in 18 or 17?
