One cannot do this without a modified chip. Whomever talked you into this higher rpm has been very irresponsible. This is definitely not recommended.

Page 112 in my manual says 6700. That doesn't say if it is a rev limiter, just max permissible revs.

As for what my promax 7100 chip has (I guess It's in the model number, I didn't install it.) I can only guess but I try to keep it below 7000 and during regular driving I am shifting in the high 5s anyways.

My car has miles, so I have no clue how often it was taken up there by POs.
