Default Car running better - could this be it? Pics...

Replaced the hall sensor ($131.75) and ref sensor ($77.25) and now the car seems to have better throttle response and more torque....

Maybe. Busted HAL sensor connectors are common on this car - lots of heat around there. Replaced mine last year too.

Was the check engine light on before you replaced the sensors? I'd think if they were way out of spec it'd throw a CEL, but also seems possible if not all that probable that they could be less than optimal without being out of range and new stuff improved it. In any event, I'd not complain about more grunt!

If the CPS or ref sensor was not working the engine wouldn't run at all It has nothing to do with the high tension leads. I suppose if it were skipping time, it would run rough, but it would likely run very rough and be very noticable.
