Hershey Porsche Only Swap Meet
Additional info on the Saturday, April 20 Hershey Swap Meet can be found at www.cpa-pca.org/swap/
This year the AACA Museum is hosting the "Porsche Style and Design" exhibit, which runs from January 21st thru the Swap Meet. There are currently about 20 rare Porsches on display in the Museum, including a 1994 968 Red Coupe with less than 15,000 milels on the odometer, plus lots of 968 memorabilia.
On Friday evening, April 19th, the AACA Museum will also host a special Porsche function with guest speaker Karl Ludvigsen, famed Porsche author, and will be held to kick off the Porsche Swap Meet the following day. More info, and how to purchase tickets to the event, can be found at www.aacamuseum.org
Hope to see many old, and new, 968 friends at either of these 2 Porsche events.

Forgot to mention that Karl Ludvigsen will have copies of his Porsche books for sale and signature or you can just bring your existing copy (Excellence was Expected, Origin of the Species, etc). There will be food and refreshments available from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm on Friday, April 19th at the AACA Museum (see photo, which shows our 968s parked in front of the Museum a few years ago) and you will also be able to tour the Porsche Style and Design display also.
I am trying to also get the new owner of the 968 Turbo RS (number 1) in Colorado to display his car and attend this evening event but nothing confirmed yet.

Update - there will be german food and drinks at the event and Karl Ludvigsen will give a presentation on his 2012 Dean Batchelor award-winning book, "Porsche - Origin of the Species." Jerry Seinfeld's Porsche Gmund coupe 356/2-040 served as the inspiration for the book. More info at www.aacamuseum.org or call the museum at 717-566-7100 ext 100. This event event is part of the kickoff for the Central PA Porsche Swap meet the next day, April 20 in Hershey.

Don, I'm going to try and make it again this year. Unfortunately, Minta won't be coming because she has other commitments. With any luck I'll make it, spring will finally show up and it will be another great year.

Aaron,
Look forward to seeing you again, sorry Minta cannot make it this year. As you may know, my 968 is currently on display at the Hershey AACA Museum for the "Porsche Style and Design" exhibit until April 28th so it will not be parked in the Saturday, April 20 Swap Meet Concours this year but I be roaming the Swap Meet, looking for deals and other 968 owners. On Friday, April 19 I will be attending the presentation by Karl Ludvigsen at Hershey Musuem. Karl is a world-renowned author ("Excellence was Expected" and other Porsche Books) and I look forward to meeting him and eating German food and drinking German beer! Depending on when I leave, I am planning to stop over at the Holiday Inn to visit Jeff and the other 968 owners, but not sure what time that will be.

I have had a change of plans and it looks like I am going to make this event again this year but I have missed the deadline for a booth, does anyone have a booth that they would like to share for the day. I do not have a ton of things but I would like to stop pushing the pile around the garage during the year. please feel free to email me @ chriskellett at me dot com.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Chris,
Look forward to meeting you at the event. I will be at the Concour area greeting Porsche owners who will be competing in the Peoples Choice Concours.

Feedback on the two events:
- Karl Ludvigsen presentation at the AACA Museum: 220 attendees, Karl presented overview of his "Origin of the Species" book - not a real big 356 fan but I appreciate the car more now. Purchased a copy of his "Origin" book fo reduced rate. Karl had a long line of Porschephiles who wanted his autograph on numerous Porsche books that he has written. German food and drink plus meeting other Porsche fans made it perfect.
- Swap Meet: Weather was cool but sunny. Chris - did not see you but did speak to Cosimo, Jeff C. Raj D. Emmy Lou & Paige T. and Ginger and Charlie S. Also met a few new 968ers. I worked the Concours area part time due to knee problem. We had a total of 60 cars in the Concours with 2 968s (Bob Piccone and John Emmett) registering for the Concours (addit. $10). Thanks Bob and John for your contribution to the Hershey Children's Hospital. Left Concours early so do not know Judging results.
Another great Porsche event in Hershey!

a nice group of 968's at the swap meet ( sorry I can't post a picture right now, something with rennlist I think ) and for whatever reason four white ones. Great to see Raj and Jeff again, and meet Cosmo and the Red Baron. Even found a couple of goodies...
