I use Mobil Delvac 75W-90, which is supposedly much superior to other synthetic gear oils including Mobil 1 75W-90, and also supposedly used in the Porsche 997 RSR transaxles. For what its worth. $42.50 per gallon from Lufteknic.com.
In order to get the whole car on jackstands, I lift using the jacking points, and place jackstands under the semi-trailing arms in the rear (as far inboard as possible) and under the lower A-arms in front (again, as far inboard as possible). I find that this holds the car VERY securely and evenly on all four jackstands, as it is still slightly suspended, rather than sitting directly on the unibody.
To fill the transaxle, I use a Harbor Freight Multi-Use Transfer Pump, item number 66418. At $8 each, you can get one and dedicate it JUST to gear oil, which is nice because you don't want this stuff contaminating ANYTHING else you fill up, ever. In fact, buy a couple of them at a time, can't hurt.
