Mecum auction Kissimmee FL
A buddy and I are heading south this weekend to attend a few days of the Mecum auction in Kissimmee Florida. Over 3000 sports, muscle, and classic cars are registered, 1 big car show.
I was just planning on "just looking" but then this showed up on the list!!!

Looks nice, but i don't have any more room for 968s at my house!

Yup, as I said. But the auctions continue through Saturday. Barrett Jackson has middle range cars, although Mecum drops below that level mostly from what I saw in the catalog.

That's Ken Lingenfelter's 968. It has a little over 60k on it if I remember right. It is in very good shape, but as you can imagine, it doesn't see much road time in the rotation of his other cars.

Well, yes he does have a large collection of Corvettes, but he also has about 8 Porsches, several F-cars, a Veyron, lots of muscle cars, and some other odd stuff.
Those pictures in the listing were taken in his garage. You can see the Cayman S on the left, the CGT on the right, and the 959 just beyond the CGT in the first pic.

I bought the car - it is very nice - onl;y issue is the radio did not work. Had 50k service done (water pump etc) and new tires from two years ago. It is a CA car complete with all records from day one. I have a 993 and have owned 996 turbo, a 87 turbo, a 89 carrera and a 356 S90 over the years. I used to go to BJ but Mecum is much better - really for car guys while BJ is more about "lifestyle". Price was $22k - high but I like cars with complete history and I have not owned a 968 before I this seemed like the time to do it.
