Default hvac trouble

so last week my car started sending scorching hot heat into the cabin. i think my diverter valve is bad because it doesn't move when i turn the thermostat, so that was a fairly easy diagnosis. trouble is, at the exact same time my blend motor stopped working. im not sure if it stopped working at the control or if the motor is kaput. i guess if it was at the control then that would explain why my diverter valve doesn't move when i turn the dial...

so anyways my question is what is the best way to go about testing my blend motor/and or controls? for now i removed the little plastic cover and i manually adjust the blend flap for extreme heat and ice cold air but nothing inbetween...

I have two HVAC units setting on the shelf if you want some pictures. Other than that I'm not going to be much help on the testing part.

It's not that easy to just take it out. I have them from stripping out the car to make it a race car. But if you do one screw holding it in is one if the middle screws in the blower housing in the engine compartment. Took me a little while to figure that one out.

so i checked my vac lines and found a few leaks. i had some silicone hose left over from my 951 hose kit so got those fixed up.i was feeling so confident, i buttoned everything up without starting the car and found that i have the same issue.

forgot to mention earlier that the flap motor is stuck in the cool air position. so the diverter valve is set at hot and the flap is set at cold. i guess i'll try to remove the hvac control unit to see if there is anything obvious and then the next step is to get at that blend motor to test to see if its functioning...

also im still tracking down some vacuum leaks... any good ideas on how to test for vacuum? im assuming theres a kit somewhere but im not entirely sure what that entails...

With the engine running I use Starting Fluid and spray the Vac lines. If the engine speeds up I've found a leak in the area I just sprayed.

Cheers,
Larry
