Default 968 Porsche engine compartment photos

As many of you know, I am putting together a 1994 968 cab, 6 speed. It was hit in the front and I have been scavaging photos, parts and information. The car has sat since 1996, it has 30,000 miles on it and we are trying to bring it back from the dead ! Most of the parts where missing when I purchased the car, and the placement of the parts unknown to me.

I am now looking for engine compartment photos, with out the plastic covers in place. I need to see where the power steering cooler is bolted to, where the cooling system and air conditioning parts are positioned. Your help is appreciated. Any members in the buffalo new York area with a 968 or 944 who wouldn't mind stopping by send me a PM.

As they say a picture is worth a thousand words !

I have a set of photos on Flickr detailing the cleanup process of my car. Perhaps they might be of some use.

I'm an hour outside of NYC. I see you are on the west side of NY but if you ever make it to my area you are welcome to stop by. Lots of 968s in my garage and you can take all the pictures you like.

Great photos, how about the power steering cooler lines? Mbardeen has a good photo of the oil cooler line. Does anyone have a oil cooler setup for sale ?

Jeff thanks for the offer, if I do not get any offers closer I will PM to discuss.

UlI911, nice car!! do you have any photos from the bottom side, without the splash shields in place?

Pmason, any photos of the power steering cooling lines or the engine oil cooling system will help. The car is a 6 speed so I dont think there ios a transmission cooler ?

Keep the photos coming, you guys rock!

Power steering line is mounted right above the oil cooler.

You can see it in this photo:

Warning, I took the AC out, bypassed the heater, and the throttle body coolant lines too.

I have found that the parts manual with it's exploded view is extremely helpful when removing and installing parts.

Hi,

Does the 968 have belly pans under the engine, like the 944?

Thanks

Yes, it does. There is the front apron (or batwing) that attaches under the bumper cover. Immediately behind that there is an engine drip tray. Depending on the year, there also may be a second belly pan, though I'm unsure where that attaches.

The front two trays are black plastic. The third pan is metallic, and it attaches along the trailing edge of the second pan, and also has two little "legs", one on each side near the back of the tray, that reach up to bolts that stick out on each side.
