Default WTB: 968 coupe roller

Looking for a straight 968 coupe roller. Preferably in the PNW. Haven't seen any up for sale so I figured I'd see if there are any out there unadvertised.

for the most part, they don't exist.

why ? becuase, the 968 is the most unique Porsche on earth.

the engines outlive the cars. that is to say, engines are plentiful out there. the cars are not.

either as a result of hard hits where frames are bent, or damage to the tubs that are too expensive to fix.

in 10 years of searching for 968s, i've seen exactly 1 roller for sale. and i regret not buying that one.

Here are about the closest in price to a "roller" you'll find right now...

Good luck in the hunt.

that Purple car has the look of a 968.... sort of. and i have to agree that i can't imagine what else it could be.

but, the spoiler is all wrong. and the rear body panel also seems wrong. weird.

You never heard about the special two-tone purple exterior? It's a special paint process that takes nearly 18 years of curing in the sun mixed with the repainting of multiple body panels.

Thanks for the leads guys! Will keep looking. Not in any rush, just more of a long-term project goal so I figured I'd start seeing what was out there!

Alex- how much do you need and what are you looking to do with it. I have one but I am a "right coaster" in Va... For the same reasons Od stated I have always sat on my parts. Do you need a tub, fenders etc, the whole car for a V8 swap etc. I may be able to work something out.

Cheers, Mike

Basically looking for a shell to swap my 951 drivetrain into, so I don't need a drivetrain or interior for that matter. Suspension would be nice just for the sake of transport. Fenders, hood, bumpers, etc would be needed along with a clean title. My 951 is complete so I'd reuse as much as possible.

Is this a patented technique?

Mike - is your car twelve-tone Barney purple?

Anyway.

Mike sending you a PM.

All be safe, have a good one!

I've seen the Barney car in person. It is/was a 968. It is parked in the lot next to European Performance in Raleigh. The 944s parts car is there as well as other cars.

It is a tip, and looks like ****, but someone might be able to pick it up cheap and revive it if they wanted. I don't remember seeing any crash damage, but I think the interior was shot.

^^Sounds like the perfect donor for a 951 drive train.

it seems too dark to be Cobalt Blue and too light to be Midnight Blue.

which is it ?

I have a 968 shell, not a roller I will let go for $500 with rear bumper and lenses. Title is clear, not salvaged and body is strait- no accidents - no fenders or front bumper. I'm about to send the shell portion to the wreckers since no one has showed interest -would be perfect for a race car base, would have a long way to go for a street car.

If interested, PM me for a contact.
