Default 968 Cabriolet

Anyone ever had problems with leaking water from the top corners of convertible? I have adjusted the top using the factory directions from a previous posting, thank you for posting that! But I still get water on the corner of the top. Apparently the top seal (the one the window butts up agains) is a little away from the rubber seal on the windscreen. I was thinking of moving the rail and seal forward since I cannot adjust the top forward anymore (the two locking teeth will be beyond the windscreen).

Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Calguy

Welcome to Rennlist !!

no Porsche can either hold it's petrochemical fluids, nor block nature's rainfalls.

for the cab i haven't a clue about just who or whatl stop the rain.....

Long as I remember The rain been coming down.
Clouds of myst'ry pouring Confusion on the ground.
Good men through the ages, Trying to find the sun;
And I wonder, Still I wonder, Who'll stop the rain.

I went down Virginia, Seeking shelter from the storm.
Caught up in the fable, I watched the tower grow.
Five year plans and new deals, Wrapped in golden chains.
And I wonder, Still I wonder Who'll stop the rain.

Heard the singers playing, How we cheered for more.
The crowd had rushed together, Trying to keep warm.
Still the rain kept pouring, Falling on my ears.
And I wonder, Still I wonder Who'll stop the rain.

Would adjustments on the window help at all?

I have the same issue. Can't bring myself to pay what Porsche wants for a replacement seal but since it's a cab I rarely drive her in inclement weather.

The problem is that the top seal itself has about an 1/8" gap between itself and the rubber seal that goes around the windscreen.

I've adjusted the windows so they are flush with the seal. It's a little hard to get them flush with the back seals, though.

The quick and dirty way to seal that gap is to literally apply some black silicon sealant. I think that'll work but may not be the most aesthetically pleasing but beats wearing a swimsuit while driving or a new interior (which by the way I had to rip out the old interior and add a new one anyway).

The prefered way would be to move the top seals forward a bit without adjusting the top cabrio. This would require drilling some new holes, though.

Just wanted to see if anyone else tried to resolve this obvious design flaw!

Thanks guys!

Calguy
