968 cs alternator
has anyone ,fixed a new generation open BOSCH alternators to a 968?
the std 115A is very heavy, drops voltage at high temps and has 3 kg rotational rotor mass at appx 14,750 rpm at 6,000rpm engine speed.
Tried a drilled housing and 924 alloy fan which improved cooling a lot,
but rotational mass remains.
Are the 90A club sport alternators or similar available anywhere?

the problem is that the 90 cs alterntor is still based on the 1980s closed design with a front fan behind the pulley which is heavy and has heavy rotor .The goal is to replace it with the newer open design with twin cooling fan like the lindsey 50 amp racing alternator .I hve fixed one on a 951 track car which had the A/C delete ,and it just about covers the requirements. The 968 with A/C and both radiator fans working needs at least the 80 to 90 amps .
