Default Battery recommendation

I took my battery to Sears today to have them test it and after a 35min. charge it failed. Sears did not have a battery in their system for a 94' 968 so they sold me the one they had that was the closest in size and cca's . Needless to say when I installed it the hood would not close properly. Can someone recommend a good battery that will fit. Thanks.

Check Interstate (MTP-91), WalMart and AutoZone.

I have this same battery in my 993TT. It's your size too:

I've seen them for high $80's at Costco.

Napa also carries the correct battery, and I prefer it over the Interstate. Not for specification or reliability differences, but because the lift handles on the Napa fold flat in a recess in the top of the battery. Pointless reason, but I'm like that.

I have the Interstate MTP-91 in my car. Fits fine, works great.

Heard from a reliable source that Interstate, while previously reliable, has lately developed reliability problems, lots of batteries returned under warranty. Suggested sticking to Bosch.

That said, if and when my current battery dies, I think I'm going to make a point of finding an Optima Red Top that will fit.

You're lucky the battery didn't ground out on the hood!!!
