My far number four intake valve outer spring was broken - pictured here. Also swapped out the chain tensioner pads - the new ones did not have any groves at all - these parts are off a 1992 968 with 150k miles.

Josh, My S2 had 2 broken valve springs when torn down, the original owner let the belt go to long and broke. Bent 14 valves and the only 2 not bent had broke springs. How wierd is that.
