Found this tucked into the owner manual and figured it might be useful to post. Sorry for the big image but the detail is easier to read.

not because it's blue. but because it's a metallic.... Jeff knows this better than me of course, but here's an example; metallic paint was $823 in 1995. this is Porsche, and anything even remotely nice costs a king's ransom. many of you don't know that in 1995 there was even a Pearl White metallic option for 12,249 !!

I have about 25 968 window stickers now (images). What cracks me up is that they change the option descriptions, take the example above, "NEW CAST WHEELS - 5 spoke design", as opposed to the OLD wheels!!! Later they changed it to "17" Light alloy wheels".
Metallic paint went up to $823 for 93-95 and don't forget the 92-only special metallics at $1600 each.
