Default Exhaust options?

Hi all,

I'm just wondering if I could only delete the second resonator on my 968, make it straight to a universal after market muffler?

I know I wont gain any HP and it's not the goal, I just want a deeper and more "agressive" sound.

If it's doable, let me know which universal muffler I should get to have a deeper sound.

thanks

I replaced the back muffler with a straight through. The two exhaust pipes were cut and replaced with a Y pipe. At first I had it without a muffler and it was too loud. So I added the straight though muffler and it sounds better. much deeper and louder.
There is minimal drone at 2,800 rpm at speed. Loss some weight back there and got better response at the low end. Seems to loss a little at the top end.

I'm happy with it. May want ot try a bigger Diameter Y pipe/ straight through though.

You might want to look at the options that RS Barn offers, I know they have a few different exhaust packages.

B&B also makes a CAT back. Others have changed the muffler to get the desired effect. In the end, none of these system are worth much in performance.

Update,
The rear muffler is a round stright through.... I kept the resonanter. I can hear the exhaust more than tire/road noise which is what I prefer and I loss weight in the back.

So I can mention RS Barn. I understand you do gain so Hp with their setup.

Default Exhaust mods

I recall a post by Odurandina on this forum a few months ago. He replaced the enitre cat back with an aftermarket resonator and muffler. He liked the result and saved a lot of weight and cash. He had specific manufature/model numbrs in his post, He brought his parts to a muffler shop and had it welded up. He is easy to find on this forum and will be glad to give the info you are looking for.

Is RS Barn banned? If so, why?
