Default wheel off set for 968

Sorry, if this is readily available, but when I searched "Wheel off set" the website said I couldn't search for the word "off".

To the point:

I'm interested in buying a spare set of wheels and tires for my car. I know that my 968 came stock with 17" wheels (I believe 17x7 f, 17x9 r). What I don't know is what off set I need to run, or frankly what the off set is/does etc. I just want some wheels that will fit like the stock ones.

That being said, a local PCA member has some wheels for sale 17x7, 17x9. Before I enter negotiations I want to make sure that the wheels will work for my purpose.

Thanks

Optional Cup 1 or 2 in 17" had 7.5" fronts; if they are 7" they are from a 964 or 993. I'll check in a minute, but in the meantime check 'offset' rather than 'off set'.

ah, I'll try "offset".

They are wheels off of a 964. I have the optional Cup 1 wheels.

Thanks

Chubs,

To my knowledge the 964 wheels will fit but if I remember correct - laymans terms - the fronts will stick out 1/4 more and the rears the opposite. I had a set of aftermarket off a 964 and this was the case, Stockers may be different. --- anyone confirm this?

Side note- I have 2 sets of cup 16s stock 968s with all season tires... Are you looking for winter wheels? 16s tires are cheaper. Just a thought, not to ruin your deal for the 964s, just options.

Cheers, Mike
