1992 968 cab
Going to check out a guards red with cashmere tiptronic with a little over 30k miles and good service history. I spend most of my time in the 964 section, as I have a 93 C2 Cab, but wanted to get some thoughts and ideas for checking this out. If it is as clean as it sounds and the records do check out - spoke with the shop, what is it worth? This is going to be a car for a friend of mine, so I want to make sure they are well informed and I am not stuck with responsibility for any potential issues I could avoid. Timing belt, rollers, pump, etc have been done in the last few months.

History is clear - title is good and no accidents or paint work. Anywhere I can run the VIN for build details? Used to use auto Atlanta, but customers only now, and based on feedback, I don't think I will become one.

Based on the listed mileage and assuming that it's in as good condition as the mileage suggests, I've seen 968 cabs go in the $15k-$20k. But I would deduct 20% based on the tiptronic transmission, unless your friend is specifically in the market for one. Generally the tips don't sell well to enthusiasts but a good condition car always sells better than a money pit.

Thanks for the help, but the seller totally flaked. I drove 3 hours round trip and agreed to the asking price, then I got " well, this guy just called from out of state and offered more than my asking price, so I will see what happens ". Hope they sell it, I am no longer interested. They wouldn't even tell me the price to make an offer while I was there in person with $$$.
