Looks like a nice 968. As long as you can confirm the miles, have most if not all the paperwork, no (or little) paintwork, and the belts have been done recently, I would agree you are looking at around $17K with a tip.

968 values are hard to gauge because there are so few of them, and other factors. I've seen prices (and conditions) all over the chart, but the best comparison I can think of is my PO asking $25k for his first, beloved, 30k-mile 968 6-speed cab. I'd guess it's worth 20 tops. For yours, it's just a guess, but probably 15-16. The really lame thing about the 968 crowd is that they place an inordinate amount of weight on options. If your car had all the best options but was 100k miles, it would be worth more than your pristine, time capsule of a car.

I don't think it is lame, I think it is a very cool feature of the 968. If you look at the 944s, many of them are exactly the same and there is not a lot of variety. With the 968 we see porsche starting to build custom and unique cars and offering tons off different options. Unfortunately, the US buying public typically just wants a low cost car in red, black or white. But a few did want special 968s. they got the full leather cars, the unique colors, M030s or other unusual options. They are very rare, unique, and deserve the premium on their value for just those reasons. I feel the 968 will be a collectable someday.

Jeff, with all due respect, I resent that you think an un-optioned red coupe is not special. I love my red 968 and it's very special. It has no uncommon options but it's been the best car I've ever had, and the most fun.
I never said an optioned car is not rare, unique, or special, or that options don't deserve premiums. I'm saying most 968 enthusiasts impose or accept higher premiums for options than other car enthusiasts, and venerate the optioned cars while deprecating the standard ones.
There's nothing unfortunate about lots (I used "lots" loosely) of red, white, and black 968s with no/few options. By my standards, they are the best looking cars and the most accessible. By your own standards, if all 968s had rare options and colors then nothing would be rare or deserve any premium.

All 968s are rare, they only made 4,242 of them for North America, and that makes them all special. But even in the small 968 world there are even more special standouts. I think a red 968 is very nice and it was the second most popular color with 548 coupes produced. Still, if I was in the market for a coupe and there was one of those 548 red cars listed as well as the 1 of 1 Riviera blue coupe I would pay that premium for the Riv car because of its uniqueness. There is no such uniqueness in the 944 world, at least from the factory, and that is one of the things that I think makes the 968 "lame-less".
