11K 92 968 on Craigslist
Did anyone see the super low mileage 968 coupe on Craiglist? Coming out of an estate, 6spd, Amazon with Gray inside. We contacted the owner and here is what we found, I haven't seen the car or do I know the seller but it could be a good deal for someone. Asking price was $20K.
Car was owned by my wife's uncle who recently died. He bought the car
about 5 years ago and never used it. Car has only 11, 250 miles on it so
it didn't really need any maintenance but we have all the books. Her
uncle was ****. The last 4 digits of the Vin are 0458. The car was
originally purchased at Paul Miller Porsche in NJ. If you have any
questions you may call me at my office. (914) 872-7347 . I am trying to
settle the estate and need to get rid of the car.
Thanks,
Don

I will be in NJ next week on vacation and would consider this car as an upgrade/replacement to my 1994. I spoke to the seller a few minutes ago - busy no bs guy which is good. Can you look up the option codes for this one ?

Steve, it is a stripo, the metallic paint and the partial leather and that is it for options. One of 117 Amazon coupes and 1 of 20 paired with classic gray interior. You may be able to get a great deal because of a motivated seller. I would have jumped on the car in a second if it was a loud color.
Good luck!

This may be the lowest odometer reading for a 968. Due to attending a recent 968 event, my 968 Coupe broke 14,000 miles - boo hoo! Anybody know what happened to the 5,000 mile NY 968 from a few years ago?

i'm not for keeping a car as a museum piece. and i'm yet to see proof one of these engines can be rebuilt. i'm okay with that. how many years are you going to drive a car? 10 ? 12 ? 20? perhaps there is merit to keeping one that way... but, too many people do that and i just can't see the justification; the cars are not beloved or coveted in even the least measurable fractions of say, an old Challenger or Hemi Cuda. you can drive one of these 3 or 4 hundred thousand miles. i had a friend who got himself a '73 Chevelle SS when he returned from Nam. waited like 28 years before it suddenly occured to him that with half of his old friends coming down with cancer, having heart attacks, etc, should just start driving it. fast forward to 2011. hell, the united states won't even be here in 3 or 4 years.

odu,
points well made. Let's see, I already had my medical crisis at age 57 (there was only a 30 percent survival rate), 70 now so I figure I got another 15 years or so.
In my case, the Porsche will eventually go to my oldest son and my 1957 Chevy Bel Air Sport Coupe (114k miles) will go to my other son.
I guess, it comes down to "different strokes for different folks".

Viewed the car on Friday. It is VERY nice. The color doesn't do it for me either, but the car is terrific. Engine purrs. Interior still has leather smell. The factory service gloves and towel in the engine compartment cubby are unused. Body is straight (of course), with a couple of minor (cosmetic) scatches and 1 small door ding.
Seller (Don) mentioned that someone was coming in from Chicago on saturday to see the car, so it may be gone.
