Default Unique 968 models

Since it has been raining all damn week, I decided to tackle a project that I have thought about for a long time - building 968 models not commonly available (Turbo RS ADAC and LeMans version and Turbo S version) based on factory photos. I decided to build/modify both the 1:24 and 1:43 versions of these models:

Five 1:24 models
- Hasegawa 968 Blue Coupe (built with no mods)
- Hasegawa 968 Red "Turbo RS ADAC" (modified with 968 Turbo RS ADAC decals, naca ducts, rear splitter)
- Hasegawa 968 Yellow Coupe "Turbo RS Le Mans" (modified with 968 Turbo RS Le Mans decals, naca ducts, rear splitter)
- Hasegawa 968 Yellow Coupe "Turbo S" (built and modified with original 944 Turbo engine, 968 Turbo S wheels, naca ducts, rear splitter, turbo S inside and outside badging and factory license plates)
- Hasegawa 968 White CS (built and modified with factory license plates and paint matching front seats)

Five 1:43 models (matching colors
- Starter 968 Coupe (built by pro in IL - no mods)
- Starter 968 Turbo RS (built by pro in TX - no mods)
- Starter 968 Turbo RS Le Mans (being built by pro in TX - no mods)
- Minichamps 968 Coupe (modified to a Turbo S version)
- NZG 968 Coupe (taken apart, painted and modified to a 968 CS version)

Glad this project is done, building models is very time consuming and really takes a steady hand.

I am planning to take these models to 968 events that I attend around the country.

Don

thanks for all the kudos, I appreciate that.

Yes, I filed the naca ducts and the rear spoilers plus found a set of 1:24 turbo wheels on ebay. Hardest part of building the models is the blaster mirror and side markers! taking apart the NZG model was not as bad as I had thought - unfortunately my painting the rear of the seats to match the CS model is hard to see from the outside. Close to factory photos as I could make 'em.

You did a good job mixing those colors - they actually look like Cobalt Blue, Guards Red, and Speed Yellow. Unless you used actual car paint....

I used Testor acrylic paint for the colors. There are no 1:24 models of the 968 Cabriolet, that I am aware of or I would probably tackle that too.

Attached is photo of engine compartments for both the Turbo S and the CS (you need to use parts from the Hasegawa 1:24 944 Turbo Racing model).

Hey, if a retired Telecomm Exec. can build these darn things, anybody can - lol!
