968 muffler restriction

Here's why I was curious about the restriction. The car has of course sprouted an extra four cylinders and needs to be a road car as well as tracked. This is my idea. Stay with the dual pipes from the mid muffler back and fit a racing muffler in front of that with oval electric cutouts in between and flat boomer pipes exiting before the rear wheels. Civilized until I flip the switch. http://www.quicktimeperformance.com/QTEC/index.php

Jim,
when you all hear my car after the LS3 install and exhaust, you're gonna **** yourselves. it's gonna sound like heaven at all RPM ranges and STILL make big power. of course, i also have the option of building it NOW to play for the angry lawnmower 4 thats currently in the car. win.

you arnt going to get much in terms of gains from upgrading the exhaust. You will save weight, but don't expect more then a few HP up top...regardless of what you do to it (granted you arnt touching the exhaust manifold).
People have run dyno's with several different exhaust combinations...dating back to the old 968.net days. Most systems will give you a couple HP up top, but lose a couple hp in the mid range.
Same with the Cat Delete. Only good for a cpl HP up top...but makes the car much much louder.
