Damian, thanks for the quick reply.
I figured the color to be rare since I can't find a photo of one anywhere as of yet.

I have the paint chip but I'd like to see it on a car if ya know what I mean....
Thanks again
Terry S.

Coral Red is a great color. I get compliments everywhere I go. Depending on the light, it can change from a deep brownish red to bronze. The 928 above looks too orange. The metallic component is gold flake which explains the variations with light. <img src="http://members.rennlist.com/jbh/MVC00162.JPG" alt=" - " />

Man this was just posted yesterday....
Many thanks, kgain968, JBH and
josephsc....
Well it's settled then, everyone seems to like the color. I'll present an '87 944S soon here after a complete, windows out repaint for what will hopefully be everyone's approval....
Thanks again everybody....

Hey JBH....I can see why you get the compliments...
Nice car...
Also, I think you're right, a 928 specific site list 'Coral Metallic' but not 'Coral Red Metallic'.
Coral in itself has a pinkish tint.
The blending of Coral and red makes up the color on your car....
Again, IMO two completely different colors and....awesome car....!

Terry:
You are correct - it has a slight pinkish tint to it. I have the cashmere interior. Personally I think that is the best color combination for Coral Red. I have seen another C2Turbo in Coral Red with a grey interior (like the 968) and I don't think it is quite as nice. Here's a view from the side:

JBH, My father-in-law owns a body shop, thus my constant involement with painting cars as a sideline, mainly I'm in the transmission repair biz.
The point of the above explanation is-lol-I have access to a mixing system, DuPont materials, and I just went there and mixed a half-pint.
Ingredients (tints) are,
1) light red,
2) opaque red,
3) medium couse aluminium (flakes in liquid form)
4) yellow/orange
5) 1002S Red pearl powder
the rest is filled with balancer and binder and have no affect on the color.
I posted on the 944/968/924 area where I hang out for the mostpart and most everyone loves the color except one guy who said it looked 'dated'..
lol
Could you add that picture there (topic is 'Opinion on this color').....One of the guys I painted an Arena Red 951 added your first picture there for me.
Again...awesome car...makes the color *look* good.
