968 supercharger system
We finished our 968 supercharger system a few weeks ago in case soem of you were not aware. Now you can have a 968 that makes 325 horsepower at the flywheel! I have been asked for some current pictures so here they are.

Looks great Tim, I see you made your own coolant tank. Are these going to be released as a new product or is it a one off? Keep up the good work <img src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" border="0" alt="[cheers]" />

What's the price of the kit? Will there be a stage 2 kit? Perhaps with lower compression pistons to allow higher boost. What's the boost currently? What hp can be expected from higher boost?
Thanx

With all these supercharger kits floating around, and now 968s that are making as much power as my 951, I sometimes wish that I bought a 968 instead... but then I remember how much I appreciate air conditioning

Last I heard you can't keep the A/C, but Tim is working on a kit that will allow the A/C. That's what I'm waiting on. I hope it has a decent price tag. The average 944 owner and many 968 owners can't afford $6,000 for a supercharger.
What happened to the Rimmers that were going for $2,000??

Didn't rimmer go out of business for blowing up too many engines? Or maybe I'm thinking of some other cheap super charging company... there was one company that gave you an extra injector to spray fuel in to the manifold when you were under boost to richen the mixtures... but kept the stock computers the way they were... that is how you blow up motors.

I was reading "Turbo" magazine on the can today, and I saw an ad for "Supercharge Any Car - $69.95". That sounded neat, so I wanted to know if they were using a hair dryer or something, so I called them. I should have first been tipped off by the fact that their ad claimed up to a 31% increase in MPG considering that when you supercharge, you generally have to ADD fuel to prevent detonation... ok, so I call and the guy asks me what kind of car I drive... I told him a N/A 944... then he says "we've done quite a few Porsches"... ok, so I ask him what his system is, and it turns out to be one of those vortex units that you see in infomercials... only they "use a thicker stainless steel, and you can adjust the fins". Whooptie doo! So, then I ask him for dyno charts. Amazed by my knowledge he tries to clarify to see if I am looking to see if they did any dyno testing. Sure, I say. "We did a lot of dyno testing on these devices with over 52 cars for about a year before we went in to business - that was 5 years ago". "Can I see a dyno chart?" I ask. "We don't publish them, but if you..." I interrupt, "Do you at least have the numbers that I can look at?". "We don't publish them, but you can log on to our website..." blah blah blah... Not even a hair dryer hooked up to the cigarette lighter and they claimed "supercharging". HA! Kudos to all the 944/968 tuners that aren't using half-*** methods to force induction.
